Did you ever hear of a quasquicentennial?
Neither did we, until we began researching the history of
the Lansing Board of Water & Light. Quasquicentennial is
defined as the celebration of a 125th anniversary -- which the
BWL will do next year.
Our company’s actual birthday is February 16th. On that
date in 1885, the Lansing Water Board was formed, which
became the basis of our company. Electric service was added
in 1892.
