The Board of Water & Light's Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, July 24, adopted a Community Sponsorship Policy that formalizes a BWL tradition of sponsoring non-profit events and programs. Sponsorships by the BWL totaled more than $150,000 in Fiscal Year 2006-07. This included bigger events such as the BWL Chili Cook-off (more than $35,000 was donated to non-profits). Sponsorships also include smaller donations such as bottled water, golf outings, and advertisements for programs and events. Click here to obtain the Application for BWL Community Sponsorship. Sponsorships are limited to events, programs and activities by non-profit organizations that do not advance a religious or political viewpoint.
