A leaky faucet can cost you money! A leaky toilet valve can
waste literally thousands of gallons of water a day, and that
means money down the drain.
If you have a question about
high water or electric usage, call us during business
hours at 702-6498. Meanwhile, here are some more tips for conserving on your water usage at home.
Fix Leaking Faucets:
Check to make sure faucets are turned off completely. Check
the washer insert for wear.
Washing Machine:
Follow manufacturers instructions. Wash only full loads.
Use the mini basket for small loads.
Brushing Teeth:
Turn off the faucet during brushing. Use a cup for rinsing.
Shower:
Install a water flow restrictor. Turn off the water while
shampooing.
Toilets:
Reduce flushes. Invest in a more efficient model. Add a plastic
jug with clean stones to the toilet tank to displace some
of the water. Dont forget to seal the jug.
Car Washing:
Use a bucket to soap the car first. Rinse the car with a hose
that has a shut-off nozzle.
Lawn Watering:
Water in early morning or late evening to minimize evaporation.
Mulch around shrubs and trees to retain moisture longer. Use
sprinklers that spray lower, broad drops since high, fine
drops evaporate quicker.
