BWL Governance: Board of Commissioners      updated: Dec 12, 2007

The Board of Water and Light (BWL) is governed by an eight-person Board of Commissioners whose members are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by City Council.  Commissioners serve without compensation for four-year terms.  Half are appointed from the City’s wards, the other half serve at-large.

The Board meets bimonthly on the fourth Tuesday of January, March, May, July, September and November at the Board of Water and Light Customer Service Center, 1232 Haco Drive, Lansing.  Meetings begin at 5:30 p.m. and are held in the Board Room.  Board meetings are open to the public and time is allotted for public comments at each meeting.
