Notice of Surplus Property
The Board of Water & Light ( BWL) is selling used surplus equipment which may include vehicles, office equipment and other merchandise on an online auction site designed for government agencies called www.govdeals.com. The govdeals.com site is similar to eBay and other online auctions, but is used by government entities across the country to sell used, outdated and surplus equipment.
The online auction also eliminates the hassle and cost of storage, and should increase the revenue received for items because it opens the pool of potential buyers to the world. The online auction also demands a lower commission for sales than most live auctioneers.
Often, the buyers are other government agencies seeking to buy used equipment at a lower price than they would pay for new.
Like other online auctions, photos of the items and minimum acceptable bids will be provided by BWL. The items will be available for at least 15 days. Buyer will be responsible for picking up or shipping their goods.
Individuals may find BWL merchandise by clicking on the GovDeals logo at the top of this page. This will take users directly to BWL's merchandise, rather than to the entire GovDeals site.
