Our online credit card payment is our newest of several convenient options for paying BWL utility bills. It’s all pretty easy. Just click here. Simply fill in the requested information and click to submit your payment through a secure site.

If you prefer to pay by check but don’t want to use the mail, we have more options for you.

You can choose to submit a check electronically through our Web site, or by calling a Customer Service Representative at 702-6006. Many of our customers with local checking accounts

also like our direct bank payment plan. Simply authorize us to directly bill your checking account for your utility charges and your payment will be automatically deducted from your checking account each month.

Tired of utility bills that go up and down every month? We can help you smooth things out through our EZ Pay Plan.

We’ll arrange it so you pay the same each month no matter what time of year it is. Your monthly payment will be based on your average yearly consumption. To sign up or get more information, call us at 702-6006.

Have you signed up yet for our GreenWise Electric Power program?

This unique new program is designed to meet the needs of our customers who prefer their electricity from renewable resources such as water, wind, or biomass-produced gas. GreenWise Electric Power comes in blocks of 250 kilowatt-hours per month, and each block adds $7.50 to your monthly bill. One block of GreenWise Electric Power is enough to meet about half the monthly needs of our average residential customer.

More than 500 BWL customers receive one or more blocks of GreenWise Electric Power each month, making ours the largest renewable energy program in Michigan. To sign up, or to find out more about GreenWise Electric Power,
click here or call us at 702-6006.

If you’ve already had enough of winter, a visit to the Turner-Dodge House could help chase the winter blahs away.

From February 23 through March 28 the Turner-Dodge House and Heritage Center hosts the Smithsonian Institution American Garden Legacy. The exhibit is open Wednesday through Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9. For more information call 483-4220.

Here’s another nice reminder of summer: baseball’s Opening Day on April 7 is right around the corner and the 2002 season has something for everyone.

Whether you’re a baseball fanatic or just want to spend a fun, affordable evening close to home, Lugnuts baseball is a perfect solution, with tickets starting at just $6.50 each. New to 2002, the Lugnuts present the Auto Owners Insurance Sluggers Series, a bobblehead collectible series featuring Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire and Barry Bonds. The All-Star Game also returns to Lansing June 18, and last but not least, there are 14 LAFCU fireworks shows on the 2002 schedule.

As a special bonus to Board of Water & Light customers, you have the chance to buy tickets to individual Lugnuts games before the general public! Just stop by the Lugnuts Box Office between March 11 and 15 and show them this newsletter. If you prefer, you can even call the Lugnuts ticket office at 485-4500 to order by telephone. Just give the box office representative the last three digits of your BWL account number when placing your order to qualify for early purchase options.

As an added incentive, each order you place between March 11 and March 15 will enter your name into a drawing to win one of five autographed baseballs or the grand prize: a night for four in the owner’s suite! Prizes will be awarded in April, so order early to get tickets to the hottest nights at Oldsmobile Park and your chance to win! (Winners will be notified in writing in April of 2002. Additional information on ticket prices, seating levels and special events should be directed to the Lansing Lugnuts at 485-4500 x 251.)
