JOINS ELECTRIC UNIVERSE ON BWL WEB SITE We’d like you to know about a fun and exciting new feature on our Web site that will help kids learn about using energy wisely. It’s called the Power Bandit, and it’s an addition to our popular educational Electric Universe program. Power Bandit includes 40 new pages of information that inform children and adults how to be energy efficient and get the maximum savings on their energy use. The Power Bandit grows in size when energy is wasted. In order to save energy and money, the viewer has to learn to use energy wisely and shrink the Bandit. The new section has interactive animations that help reinforce the messages and beat the Bandit. Click here to check it out with your children on our Web site. From the main page, click on “For the Kids,” then on “Electric Universe.” |

Protect yourself from lead in drinking waterBWL customers and all water consumers can protect themselves from lead in drinking water by taking some simple precautions. Always use the cold-water tap when drawing water used for cooking or drinking. If water has been sitting in pipes for several hours, run your water until it turns cold before using any for drinking or cooking. If drinking water sits for extended periods in pipes or fixtures that contain lead, small particles of lead can dissolve into the water. The steps outlined above can prevent that from happening. If a lead service line connects your house to the water main in the street, you should take extra precautions. Click here to learn more about lead in drinking water. If you’re a BWL water customer we can tell you if your house has a lead service line. Call us at 702-6006. |
