OUR ADULT FEMALE PEREGRINE FALCON IS W.C. - SHE IS

FROM LIMA, OHIO, HATCHED APRIL 30 2007, SO SHE IS 4 YEARS OLD

W.C. STANDS FOR W COIL - THE BUILDING WHERE SHE HATCHED AND FLEDGED FROM IN LIMA.

OUR ADULT MALE PEREGRINE FALCON IS M.P.  (STANDS FOR MOORES PARK)

HE DOES NOT HAVE BANDS - SO WE DO NOT KNOW HOW OLD HE IS OR WHERE HE FLEDGED FROM.

**WE ADDED A HINGED DOOR  IN 2010 AND WILL DROP IT ACROSS THE FRONT OF THE NESTING BOX**

ACTIVE INCUBATION STARTS WHEN THE 2ND EGG IS LAID AND WILL LAST FOR 30-35 DAYS.

2010 PHOTOS ARE POSTED IN OUR Picture Gallery - UNDER FalconCam

The young peregrine has a tough first year where their mortality rate is highest at this stage.

When the peregrine survives it's first winter, the odds of continued survival increase.

THESE PHOTOS WERE TAKEN ON MAY 27, 2009 JUST ONE HOUR AFTER EGGS 3 AND 4 WERE HATCHED OUT...

The MDNR will band the eyasses when they mature to about 3 weeks old.

The nestling will begin to fledge when they reach approx 40-45 days old.
