Water Main Breaks
Early Thursday morning, June 19th, the Lansing Board of Water & Light crews were dispatched to isolate five water main breaks. Water main breaks near S. Washington Ave and Dunlap Ave., East Michigan Ave. (east of Homer St.); Mt. Hope Ave. and Bedford Ave., Lenawee St. and Jenison Ave. have been fixed.
BWL crews are currently working to fix the water main break near Mt. Hope Ave. and Doral Ave.
BWL will conduct water main flushing in all five water main break areas to eliminate any water discoloration.
The previous week’s excessive rain resulted in the BWL Dye Water Plant experiencing a pressure spike in the water system, which lead to the water main breaks.
