Terri L. Singleton named BWL’s new Director of Human Resources

Lansing Board of Water & Light General Manager J. Peter Lark today named Terri L. Singleton the company’s new Director of Human Resources.

“I am extremely pleased that Ms. Singleton will be joining the BWL Family as our new H.R. Director,” Lark said. “Her career in the Human Resources field spans both state and local government, which means she has a wealth of public sector experience to draw on. That bodes well for her and the BWL as she begins this exciting new chapter in her career.”

Singleton is currently the Director of Human Resources for the City of Lansing. She starts work at the BWL on July 7.

“The Board of Water and Light is gaining a very talented human resources executive who has served the City of Lansing with distinction for the last two and a half years,” said Mayor Virg Bernero. “We will miss Terri and wish her the best at BWL.”

Prior to coming to work for the City of Lansing, Singleton was the Assistant Human Resources Director for Ingham County. From 1999 to 2005, she was the Director of Human Resources for Community Mental Health in Lansing.

Singleton also worked 18 years in various capacities for the State of Michigan. She holds both Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from Spring Arbor University.

Singleton has served on various boards and commissions in the Lansing area, including as a member of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Commission, a board member of Ele’s Place s and board member of the Michigan Capital Girl Scout Council.
