Aileen Gow, a highly respected expert on energy conservation, has been named the Lansing Board of Water & Light's Energy Efficiency Specialist.
“This new position in our company underscores our mission to help all of our customers learn how to become more energy-efficient,” General Manager J. Peter Lark said today. “I can think of no one more qualified to fulfill this mission than Aileen Gow. She is respected in Michigan, and throughout the Midwest, as being a leader in energy efficiency and energy conservation.
“Ms. Gow brings 25 years of experience in managing residential and commercial energy programs for nonprofits and utility companies. That level of background and expertise bodes well for the BWL and all of its customers,” Lark said.

Urban & Northern Options strive to improve the economy and Michigan's environment by helping people save energy. She was instrumental in developing a successful partnership between the BWL and Urban Options to deliver the EnergyWise Weatherization and Seminar programs to Lansing-area consumers.
Prior to serving Urban & Northern Options, Ms. Gow managed the Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association. She has also managed Consumers Energy's residential energy programs, and was a marketing consultant for that utility's commercial and industrial rebate program.
Ms. Gow lives in Dimondale.
