BWL to announce new Earth-friendly measures at Adopt A River Day

WHO: J. Peter Lark, General Manager, Lansing Board of Water & Light,
and Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero.

WHAT: Mr. Lark and Mayor Bernero will announce new initiatives
for making Lansing a greener, cleaner community.

Among the initiatives:

 A wide-ranging Hometown Energy Savers program to assist
    thousands of customers in reducing their energy bills.
 BWL plans to begin test-burning biomass, a carbon neutral
    fuel source for generating electricity.
 BWL directives to reduce the company’s carbon footprint
    through energy conservation and going “paperless” in some
    company operations.

Also: Winners of the Adopt A River Poster Contest will be
announced.
