Margaret Bossenbery was sworn in today as a Lansing Board of Water & Light commissioner, representing the city’s Second Ward.
A Lansing resident for more than 15 years, Commissioner Bossenbery is active in several community service endeavors.
Since 2003, she has served on the governing board of the Capital Area District Library. Concurrently, she does fundraising for EVE (End Violent Encounters) in the Lansing community.
Previously, Commissioner Bossenbery served on the Girl Scouts of Michigan Capital Council.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University in pre-law, and currently works for the State Bar of Michigan. Previously, she worked for the State Court Administrative Office of the Michigan Supreme Court.
Commissioner Bossenbery was appointed by Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero to complete the four-year term of former Commissioner Julee Rodocker. Rodocker resigned in January.
The Lansing City Council approved Commissioner Bossenbery’s appointment. Her term expires June 30, 2010.
The Lansing Board of Water & Light is Michigan’s largest publicly owned utility, with more than 96,000 electricity customers and nearly 55,000 water customers.
