Lansing Board of Water & Light General Manager J. Peter Lark today announced the promotion of Susan C. Devon to Assistant General Manager.
“Susan Devon has tremendous knowledge and insight into the intricacies of the utility industry,” Lark said. “I can think of no one better qualified. Combine her knowledge-base with the spirit of teamwork and optimism she brings to the scene every day, and you have an unbeatable combination.”
Devon has been the BWL’s Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director of Administration. Previously, she was the Michigan Public Service Commission’s Director of Regulated Energy. Her 28-year career has centered on the regulation of energy utilities.
In addition to Devon’s promotion, Lark announced two other key promotions.
- Denise Griffin has been appointed Corporate Secretary, reporting directly to the BWL’s governing body, the Board of Commissioners. Griffin had been Interim Corporate Secretary.
- Bruce Cook has been appointed Director of Safety. Previously, Cook was the BWL’s Purchasing and Warehousing Manager.
The BWL is Michigan’s largest public utility, serving more than 96,000 electric customers and nearly 55,000 water customers in the Greater Lansing area.
