BWL employees elected to Kiwanis Club offices
The Lansing Board of Water & Light announced today that BWL Assistant General Manager Susan Devon and General Counsel Brandie Ekren were inducted as president and vice-president respectively of the Kiwanis Club of Lansing.
“I am extremely proud that two of the BWL’s most effective leaders are lending their expertise to the Kiwanis Club of Lansing,” said BWL General Manager J. Peter Lark. “This is an organization that does so much good within our community. I know that great things are about to happen.”
The Kiwanis Club of Lansing is part of a global organization working primarily to improve the lives of children through partnerships with a variety of nonprofit organizations, schools and other organizations serving children.
When asked about her new responsibilities, Susan Devon said, “I’m honored to be taking on this role. Too many children are facing challenges that most of us never thought about while growing up. It feels good to have an opportunity to help.”
General Counsel Brandie Ekren said, “I am proud to represent the BWL as a leader in an organization such as Kiwanis, that believes and invests in our youth.”
The Kiwanis Club of Lansing was chartered in 1917. It meets every Thursday at noon at the Eagles Lodge, 4700 N. Grand River.
