Staying involved in our community is something BWL prides itself on and is the first priority in our strategic plan—enrich the community we serve. All summer long, we sponsored events in the Lansing area to give back and help those of all backgrounds. Below is a list of some of the events we sponsored this summer. We’re happy to bring excitement and joy to the Lansing region!

The Juneteenth Festival – a City of Lansing festival to celebrate Juneteenth, commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans.

Star Day of Giving – a fundraiser for the LCC Foundation, providing scholarships for high school graduates.

Lansing Promise Dinner – a dinner fundraiser to provide tuition assistance for college/skilled trades for all eligible Lansing high school graduates.

Welcome Home Dinner – a fundraiser for the Capital Area Housing Partnerships, providing housing and utility assistance in the Lansing region.

Scrapfest – an art festival in Old Town Lansing, bringing awareness to the great artistic talents in our area.

Evening of Empowerment – a dinner fundraiser for ATHENA WIN, a women’s professional development organization.

JazzFest – a music festival in Old Town Lansing, bringing awareness to unique, musical talents in the Lansing area.

Lansing Pride – the first annual festival in Lansing celebrating the LBGTQ+ community.

2nd Annual Eastside Summer Fest – a celebration for the Eastside Neighborhood including live music, food trucks and more.
