BWL’s 23rd annual Chili Cook-off to be held Friday

The Lansing Board of Water & Light’s 23rd annual Chili Cook-off, presented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical WorkersLocal Union 665 and the National Electrical Contractors Association Lansing Division, is traveling “Around the World” and within the City of Lansing! This Friday’s family-fun event is headed to Cooley Law School Stadium, home of the Lansing Lugnuts, for the first time.

WHEN: 

Friday, October 12 from 5:30-9pm

WHERE: 

Cooley Law School Stadium, 505 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing

WHO: 

Guests will sample chili on the ballfield from dozens of vendors, including local restaurants, businesses, non-profits and organizations

WHAT: 

Proceeds from the Chili Cook-off will benefit Impression 5 Science Center, the H.O.P.E. Scholarship Program and Pennies for Power, the BWL’s program to assist families struggling to pay their utility bills

Making a return again this year is the Chili Dog Eating Contest, where participants race to eat as many chili dogs as they can in 4 minutes. Fan favorites, including the merchandise tent and main stage with live music, featuring Mike Robertson & Friends and Starfarm, will also be available. New this year is the Kids Zone, featuring face paint, coloring, inflatables and more, and the Sweet Shop, which will offer sweet treats for sale.

Tickets are available online on the Lansing Lugnuts website, and at the Lugnuts ticket office. Pre-sale tickets will be $5 for adults and $3 for kids 6-12. Tickets purchased at the gates the day of the event will be $10 for adults and $5 for kids.
