
Rob Hodge joined the Lansing Board of Water & Light (BWL) in 2008 and serves as the utility’s Chief Operations Officer. Prior to this position, Hodge served as the Director of Electric, Steam and Chilled Water Production.
Hodge also served as the Project Director for Delta Energy Park, where he led the commissioning and operations of the $500 million Delta Energy Plant (DEP), which replaced BWL’s coal-fired power station. He oversaw the design and development of BWL’s new energy projects on the DEP site, including the Delta Energy Plant 2, battery storage and a 10MW solar array. He also managed the decommissioning of BWL’s two coal-fired power plants, Eckert and Erickson power stations.
He serves as a commissioner on the Michigan Public Power Agency (MPPA), a joint action agency that supports municipal-owned utilities in the planning, development and management of energy assets.
Hodge served in the United States Navy for over nine years. He received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Business in Administration from Northwood University.
