In 2024, the BWL finalized its current strategic operational plan, which features a commitment to 50% renewable energy, aligning with State of Michigan legislative targets and meeting the region's utility needs. The plan focuses on meeting the BWL's regulatory and clean energy targets, increasing customer participation in innovative decarbonization and energy waste reduction programs, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
