BWL to host Regional Water Tapping Competition

The Lansing Board of Water & Light will host the Regional Water Tapping Competition tomorrow, Wednesday November 6. The three member teams will race against the clock to be the fastest team to simulate a new house water service installation with as few violations, including minor leaks and safety risks, as possible. The simulation includes installing a copper line and adding an on-off valve at the water main and curb stop.

WHEN: Wednesday, November 6 at 1pm

WHERE: BWL Water Department, 730 E. Hazel St. Building G, Lansing

WHO: BWL Men’s Waterdog Tappers

            BWL Women’s Lethal Ladies

The Waterdog Tappers will take on the men’s team from Columbus, Ohio. Both BWL’s Lethal Ladies and the Columbus men’s team are the defending champions of the regional competition.

The BWL teams will also compete at the state competition held in Lansing in February. The winners of the men’s and women’s teams overall will then compete representing the State of Michigan at the national competition in Orlando, Florida in June 2020.
