BWL Responded to Unaffiliated Tree Contractor Death
The Lansing Board of Water & Light (BWL) regrets and acknowledges the death of a private tree contractor not associated with the BWL who was killed today in Delta Township after allegedly being electrocuted after touching a live wire. BWL crews volunteered to work with first responders to remove the victim from the tree.
"We deeply regret and are sadden by this death and our thoughts are with the family and friends during this difficult time,” said BWL General Manager Dick Peffley.
This unfortunate incident also resulted in an approximate 1,200 person outage on the westside of our service territory. We expect this outage to be restored shortly.
